STILLWATER FIELD GUIDE

HUSH infected guide: known types and sound discipline

The developer names Runners, Brutes, Screamers, Listeners, Ringers and Riot cops, plus five bosses. The shared survival rule is sound: the infected cannot see, but they can hear you.

Official named infected

This is a confirmed roster, not a measured combat chart. Health, damage, speed and hearing-radius values are not supplied by the official description.

TypeOfficial description or identification
RunnersNamed infected variant
BrutesNamed infected variant
ScreamersNamed infected variant
ListenersExplicitly described as blind
RingersExplicitly described as pager-carrying
Riot copsExplicitly described as shielded

Avoid turning one encounter into a swarm

The developer warns that every shot attracts attention and recommends sneaking, closing doors and using a blade. The reviewed beginner footage also shows glass breaking before infected approach.

Before making noise, look for a route you can leave through. Watch your current HUD and surroundings instead of relying on an invented safe distance or assuming a closed door makes you immune.

Choose survival over an unnecessary fight

  • Before firing, know the direction you can retreat.
  • Keep track of the route back to your exit while looting an interior.
  • Treat an injury as a reason to reassess the run.
  • Use a shield or pager as an identification clue. It does not establish which unobserved weapon or attack can defeat that enemy.

Boss encounters are a separate decision

The developer confirms five bosses. Current creator videos focus on Major Garrow and the full boss roster. Use the boss guide for encounter-specific observations rather than applying ordinary infected assumptions to a named boss.
