STILLWATER FIELD GUIDE

HUSH healing and infection guide

A bite can cause more than lost health. Identify the condition before using an item: bandages, antivirals and cola address different problems.

Match the item to the problem

ProblemSourced responseWhat to check
BleedingUse a bandageCheck whether the bleeding indicator ends
InfectionSeek antiviral help and prioritize extractionWatch your actual infection countdown; do not assume a permanent cure
Low staminaCola provides a temporary regeneration boostKeep enough stamina to leave the next encounter
Other injuriesRead the description of the relevant medical itemPills and splints appear in the reviewed medical loot, but their exact effects should come from the item panel

Antiviral is not a promise of a cure

VendoPlus describes an infection countdown after a bite and says an antiviral adds time. He also warns that further bites can worsen the situation. The exact current timings were not confirmed from an item tooltip.

Use your infection HUD and the current item description to judge how much time you actually have. Treat antiviral help as room to escape rather than permission to keep looting indefinitely.

Where the reviewed run found medicine

The reviewed run searches residential bathrooms and medicine cabinets. One visible cabinet has an F Search prompt; the inventory later contains a bandage and pills. These are practical places to check, although a particular cabinet may not contain the item you need.

A practical recovery order

  1. Get away from the immediate threat and close the door when possible.
  2. Read the condition indicator and open your inventory.
  3. Use the appropriate item through its current item options or use control.
  4. Check that the HUD condition actually changed.
  5. Recheck the timer and your exit route. A successful retreat can protect more value than another room of loot.
